Berlin, March 22, 2023 – Tegel Projekt GmbH will once again be managed by a dual leadership. Frank Wolters, former Managing Director of the Paderborn Economic Development Corporation, will lead the state-owned company together with Gudrun Sack from April 2023.
A virtual walk through the city of the future is now also possible via smartphone. The Berlin TXL app has been adapted to the ongoing planning and is now compatible for iPhones and older iPads for the first time.
As part of SBE22, a workshop on “Municipal Climate Action” was held at the Infocenter Berlin TXL, followed by lunch and guided tours of the former airport site.

Together with the FIWARE Foundation, we have launched a challenge in the field of “Smart Cities & Open Data”. The challenge is to develop a multilingual app for visitors to the Urban Tech Republic to help them explore the site.
Over the past few weeks, the slogan #keinBerlinohneKultur was created on the tarmac of the former Tegel Airport. With this action, the radio stations radioeins and rbbkultur wanted to set an example for Berlin’s culture.

The “sonambiente berlin txl” festival celebrated the farewell to Tegel Airport from 21.8. to 5.9. with audio compositions, a virtual reality installation and sound performances.
Tegel Projekt GmbH has published the subspaces of the post-use project of the former Tegel Airport on the geoportal of the Berlin City Portal. The aim is to make the data available to the public via the geoportal.
At the Berlin Freedom Dinner, 3,000 Berliners celebrated on the former airfield in Tegel on the evening of 7 August. The guests sat at 1,018 specially arranged tables that formed the 800-metre-long lettering “Berlin loves you!” from a bird’s eye view.
