New app: Why wait? Berlin TXL can now be explored in a 3D model

Automated driving, solar panels on the roofs and lots of greenery: here, anyone interested can get a taste of what will be built on the site of the former airport in Tegel. The Berlin TXL app currently offers the largest Untiy-based city model in the world and gives users a detailed insight into the urban planning status of Berlin TXL. The menu offers two functions: The first function shows the planned construction phases and the second visualises the position of the sun on the site at different times of the day. The app is aimed particularly at users from the fields of urban development, research, science and business, but interested citizens are also invited to explore the Urban Tech Republic and the Schumacher Quarter. By navigating and zooming in and out, users can fly over the roofs and get to know the area from a bird’s eye view or look at the details of buildings and open spaces from the ground. The Schumacher Quartier with its urban neighbourhood design is also included in the model. The app is available for download in the App Store for the iPad Pro (2nd gen) (requires iOS 11.0 or newer).
