Tegel Airport has been closed since 8 November 2020. There will be a transitional period during which the airport company must keep it operational. In the summer of 2021, the time will have come: Tegel Projekt GmbH will take over the site and can start implementing the post-use plans. The Urban Tech Republic, the Schumacher Quarter and a large landscape area will be built here. Anyone interested can find information about the future of Berlin TXL and answers to the question of what is now happening on the site on the Tegel Projekt GmbH website. This includes project information on the Urban Tech Republic and the Schumacher Quarter as well as general information on Tegel Projekt GmbH, which is developing the site on behalf of the state of Berlin.
A press release from Tegel Projekt GmbH dated 2 November 2020 explains when the area will be open to the public again next year and what will happen on the large construction site afterwards.
There will be an information point on site from 8 November.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the current Covid19 protection measures, the Infopoint cannot open in November as planned, but probably not until December. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the digital Infocentre invites you to visit.
