Sustainable concepts that optimize the energy balance of buildings in the long term, data-based representations of buildings as a basis for planning, construction and sustainable management, and energy-saving potential resulting from energy contracting – these are the central tasks of professional facility management. Facility management has now established itself as one of the growth sectors of the German economy. Facility management offers new job profiles, gives new impetus to the labor market, contributes significantly to value creation in the real estate industry and plays a decisive role in increasing the efficiency of buildings on the way to the energy turnaround. Its tasks include the development of holistic technology concepts that identify cost-cutting potential with the help of data collection and evaluation. In the future, facility management will have to make use of resource-saving technologies, materials and consumables.
Thomas Gudera, Head of Real Estate Management at Tegel Projekt GmbH, will also be on hand to give a presentation on the future role of digitization in large-scale urban development projects, using the example of the project development of the former Berlin Tegel Airport. This will also cover the use of Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM), drones and artificial intelligence (AI).
