From 18 – 30 September, things got colourful at the former Tegel Airport. The radio stations radioeins and rbbKultur, together with many artists, associations and institutions of Berlin, created a big message on the rollway in front of Terminal A of the former airport. The words #keinBerlinohneKultur can be read over a total length of 400 metres. The campaign is intended to send a signal for Berlin’s culture. Listeners were able to pick up their own paintbrushes and take part in the campaign over a weekend. Tegel Projekt GmbH designed the letter L of the word Berlin for the campaign. The visualisation shows what will be created in Berlin TXL in the next few years. Based on the shape of the airport building, hexagonal image worlds have been created within the letter. They show a wide variety of topics that will become important in Berlin TXL in the future: Mobility, energy and biodiversity, but also sustainable and social coexistence in the Schumacher Quarter as well as the first two anchor users, the Berlin University of Applied Sciences and the Berlin Fire and Rescue Service Academy.
