Companies and projects together for “Green Moabit” was the motto on 7 September 2017, when the 6th Moabit Energy Day took place in front of Tiergarten Town Hall under the patronage of the District Mayor of Berlin-Mitte, Stephan von Dassel. From 2 p.m., Berliners could find information and inspiration about innovations in the field of environment and energy at the market stalls on the square in front of the town hall, on an experimentation and hands-on course or on the mobility mile. Those who wanted to could try out innovative mobility concepts such as electric mobility and car or bike sharing directly on site or get advice on the topic of optimised heat and energy use in buildings. In addition to large companies such as Gasag, Vattenfall and Siemens, neighbourhood projects, institutions and school initiatives used their projects and practical examples to demonstrate how climate-friendly actions can be implemented in everyday life. In five workshops in the Arminius Market Hall, those interested were able to obtain more in-depth information on the topics of “climate, environment and mobility” and clarify their questions directly in discussion with the speakers. There was also an opportunity to learn more about energy-efficient construction and green technologies in the future Schumacher Quartier, the planned climate-neutral model quarter on the site of the former Tegel airport.
The Moabit Energy Day is organised by the Moabit e. V. business network and supported by the Green Moabit redevelopment management alongside partners from Berlin’s business community. Green Moabit pursues the goal of getting more energy-saving projects off the ground by providing individual advice to businesses, the housing and property sector.
