On behalf of Land Berlin, the Tegel Projekt GmbH has carried out an expression of interest procedure for the realisation of the infrastructure developments relating to Berlin TXL – The Urban Tech Republic.
On 12 February 2015, an investor conference took place at which interested companies were able to learn more about the procedure in general and about the details regarding one or more specific topics.
The conference was intended primarily for decision makers and business sector developers of German and international technology and construction companies specialising in supply infrastructure (energy, rainwater handling systems, waste disposal, and mobility).

The objective of the procedure was to determine the views of the interested parties on the technical feasibility and economic viability of the innovative infrastructure strategies. In a public announcement, the companies were called on to present their ideas and visions for the implementation and where appropriate the further development of the infrastructure concepts for Berlin TXL. The expression of interest procedure was successfully concluded in mid-2015.
Numerous companies registered their interest in participating in the realisation of the innovative infrastructure concept. At the same time, valuable contributions were also received on the implementation of innovative infrastructures which were discussed by a committee of experts. The insights gained will be included by Tegel Projekt GmbH in the future planning and on this basis calls for tenders will be prepared.
