28.11.2022, Press Release of the Reinickendorf District Office of Berlin
On 24.11.2022, the Reinickendorf district office, in cooperation with the Berlin Agency for Electromobility eMO and Tegel Projekt GmbH, organised the 11th Reinickendorf Electromobility Day in the Loci Loft. District Mayor Uwe Brockhausen (SPD) welcomed the guests and once again highlighted the essential contribution of electromobility to a sustainable mobility system. At the same time, he gave the positive signal that intensive work is being done on expanding the charging infrastructure in Reinickendorf. In addition to the expansion planning of charging points, the lantern charging project is being pushed forward so that the use of electric vehicles is more convenient in everyday life. Gernot Lobenberg from the Berlin Agency for Electromobility eMO then presented the latest developments and future forecasts in this area. In particular, the planned expansion of charging infrastructure, also in Reinickendorf, was positively received by the guests. Nicolas Novotny from Tegel Projekt GmbH explained the re-use and mobility concept at the former Tegel Airport. The future location for urban technologies in Berlin is being created there. Mr Kher from Vay Technology GmbH showed what driverless mobility can look like and at what stage “teleoperated driving” is. The topic was rounded off with an overview of the possible uses of cargo bikes, especially in the commercial sector, by Mr Kremer from Isicargo GmbH. After the presentations, the guests were able to inform themselves at the information stands about charging infrastructure, funding and application possibilities as well as solar solutions. They also took the opportunity to test drive the Carver and the heavy-duty bike. The small, manoeuvrable Carver was a particular crowd puller and was extensively tested.
