The construction industry has an extremely high CO₂ footprint. A European initiative is planning a revolution and wants to rely more on wood in construction. Berlin TXL is planning to use the sustainable building material both in the Urban Tech Republic and especially in the Schumacher Quartier. The managing director of Tegel Projekt GmbH, Prof. Dr. Philipp Bouteiller, spoke about this with the Tagesspiegel and discussed the boost effect that Berlin TXL can give to the timber construction industry.
